A salon owner from Littleborough has scooped £16,500 after successfully beating the banker on the hit game show Deal or No Deal.
Louise Tierney, who owns Church Street Barber Shop, took part in the first ever live show of the programme last night, hosted by Noel Edmonds - and walked away with thousands.
Ms Tierney, 26, a finalist in Rochdale Online’s Miss Rochdale competition in 2009, said the Deal or No Deal experience was “amazing.”
She said: “Before it started I was dead nervous but as soon as I started playing I totally forgot I was on tele – I was just that in to the game.
“It was the best day of my life; I want to do it again!”
Ms Tierney applied for the show 18 months ago and to her surprise Noel Edmonds appeared at her dad’s shop, also in Littleborough, last week to ask her if she wanted to play in the live shows.
The show was filmed in Bristol and Ms Tierney was joined by family and friends who also appeared on screen to open the boxes, alongside previous contestants.
Speaking about the win, Miss Tierney, said: “I was shocked, it still doesn’t feel real.”
Ms Tierney said she plans to use the money for a deposit on a house, a car and to treat her friends and family to thank them for supporting her.
